Cash collection vehicles are specialized vehicles designed for the transportation of cash and other valuables. The specifics of the work of collectors imposes special requirements on the vehicles used - the ability to survive a serious armed attack, while maintaining the ability to move and ensuring the survivability of the crew.
Instructions
Step 1
The main feature of a cash-in-transit vehicle is armor. According to global standards, there are seven main booking levels. The first level is a standard unarmored vehicle. The second level provides protection against pistols up to 9mm caliber. The third and fourth levels protect against all common types of pistols with various bullets and are considered sufficiently reliable protection against accidental attacks.
Step 2
Reservations on the 5th, 6th and 7th levels are designed to protect against a professional attack; they are rarely used in cash-in-transit vehicles. Reservations for the 7th class of protection, due to its high cost, are used for passenger cars of presidents. In addition, protection against detonation on a mine or land mine can be installed in cash-in-transit vehicles.
Step 3
The glazing of the cash-in-transit vehicle also provides protection against bullets. Most often it is 2-3 class of protection. By the way, the windows in such cars are not lowered. Otherwise, why would a car need armor if a bullet finds its target through an open window. To prevent the crew from suffocating in a hermetically sealed capsule, a powerful air conditioner is required in imported armored cars. And to protect against poisonous gases during a long siege, multi-stage air filtration systems are built into the ventilation system. In Russian cash-in-transit vehicles, this is only an option.
Step 4
Since the reservation significantly increases the weight of the vehicle, many components and assemblies also require reinforcement. First of all, the suspension is being finalized with the expectation of a higher weight of the car. Tires are replaced with bullet-resistant tires, with the ability to move even with repeated penetration. If the manufacturer of the base car offers a choice of engines, the most powerful ones are selected or the existing ones are boosted. The engine itself is often equipped with a preheater, a high-power generator, and a high-capacity battery. Fuel tanks are made explosion-proof when a bullet hits them. The brakes are also enhanced.
Step 5
Cash-in-transit armored cars have a number of other features. These are loopholes with armored covers so that the crew can shoot back from their personal weapons. Several types of communication: cellular, radio communication, satellite. Satellite navigation with the ability to track the armored car from the dispatching console. White flashing beacon signaling an attack on collectors. Separate latches on the doors inside so that the door cannot be opened even if the door lock is damaged. Special windows for negotiations with outsiders. Door hinges are also replaced with reinforced ones.
Step 6
Each car is equipped with a built-in safe, which is often tightly welded to the body of the armored car. The safe itself also has several degrees of protection - combination locks, satellite notification of an attempted opening and a system for destroying contents in case of unauthorized opening.
