If the installed radio tape recorder has a European connector of the ISO standard, the installation process will consist only in the fact that the radio tape recorder must be installed in the slot and connected to this connector. And install the speakers in the rear shelf. In this case, there is no interference as such in the design of the car, and if necessary, everything can be quickly returned back.
It is necessary
Radio tape recorder, screwdriver, wrench set, heat shrink tube, electrical tape
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the protective grilles covering the original speaker locations on the rear shelf. They are fastened with latches so that it will be difficult not to break them. Alternatively, unscrew the 4 bolts on each side and remove the plastic shelf fasteners. For a complete removal, the rear seat belts will interfere, but in order to dismantle the speaker covers, this will be enough. Now, using a screwdriver, you can squeeze out the latches and slide the covers. The shelf can be replaced.
Step 2
Please note: the standard seats in Kalina are designed for the installation of 13-cm speakers. If you have speakers of a different size, you will have to change the mounting system and the seats themselves. Or you can simply purchase the size you want. When installing, it is recommended to use standard gray speaker covers so that the branded covers do not attract the attention of thieves. Considering that the installed radio tape recorder is inexpensive, sound degradation will not make the weather. High-quality sound can be obtained from an expensive audio system, which is highly recommended to be installed in a car service.
Step 3
Connect the standard wires to the speakers. The left ones can be found from the trunk lighting harness, the right ones - under the trim next to the standard speaker attachment points. Connectors with different widths will allow you not to confuse the positive wire with the negative one. If you mix it up, the radio or speakers will not deteriorate. But both speakers will work in different phases, which means a sharp decrease in the already not very high-quality sound. After connecting the wires, replace the rear shelf.
Step 4
In order to connect a radio tape recorder with a connector that differs from the ISO standard to Kalina, you must either buy or make the necessary connector yourself. The plastic plug on the dashboard can be removed by squeezing at the top and bottom. Connect the radio tape recorder to the connector and install the frame slide.
Step 5
There is no standard antenna in Kalina. And the place to install it too. In order not to drill the roof, it is recommended to purchase an active antenna, which can be fixed with double-sided tape. It can be mounted under the bottom shelf, under the glove compartment, or inside the visor under the dashboard. An additional ground wire is required to connect the antenna. Bring it out by soldering to the connector terminal. Bring out three wires (signal, power and ground) from the antenna to the radio. When connecting wires to the radio, connect the negative wire to the negative plug, plus to the Remote input of the radio. This is necessary so that the antenna power is turned on only together with the radio tape recorder. All connections must be well insulated. Most often, an LED is installed on the antenna, signaling the presence of power. Use it to check if the antenna is properly connected to the radio.
