Every year there are fewer Volga GAZ-3110 and 2410 cars. Once they were considered attractive and prestigious, but gradually they were squeezed out by foreign cars. The main reasons were the increased fuel consumption, insufficient comfort, poor-quality assembly.
Instructions
Step 1
True adherents of domestic cars still appreciate and love the Volga and are in no hurry to change it to another car. Begin the repair by diagnosing the steering (chassis). To do this, turn the steering wheel left and right until it stops and using a backlash gauge (if it is absent, by eye) determine the backlash of the chassis. It is made up of gaps on the steering gear and steering rods. Repair is not required if the backlash does not exceed the permissible value. And if it is larger, find out the reason. As a rule, this is wear of the undercarriage parts. Adjust the backlash depending on the amount of wear or change worn parts.
Step 2
Check the connection of the stub axle to the beam. To do this, hang out the front wheel with a jack and shake it with your hands back and forth. If you hear a characteristic knock and feel movement, change the bearings and kingpin. Do the same with the other wheel.
Step 3
Check the shock absorbers for how they are secured. Change rubber grommets if worn out. Then measure the air pressure in the tires, if necessary, bring to normal.
Step 4
A malfunction of any of the transmission mechanisms - clutch, gearbox, rear axle, propeller shaft - when the car is moving, immediately manifests itself: there is a knock, noise, vibration.
Step 5
Replace worn parts to restore transmission performance. Check the oil level in the rear axle reducer and gearbox. Change or top up if necessary.
Step 6
Diagnose the brake system at the stand. But first, decide if she needs repairs and adjustments. To do this, accelerate the car and apply the brake on a straight section of asphalt. How the braking system works will be seen in the traces of the braking of the wheels.
Step 7
Have the engine repaired by a specialized company. Change the mounting pads if necessary.
Step 8
Carry out the repair of the ignition, power supply, cooling systems as follows: remove, then rinse, then inspect and put in place.
