If gasoline engines can be turned off by simply turning off the ignition system, then there is no such system in diesel units. In this regard, there are other ways to drown the turbine. In this case, it is necessary to strictly follow the rules in order to extend the life of the motor.
Instructions
Step 1
Shut off fuel supply. If you have a turbine on a passenger car, then it is enough to turn the key in the ignition lock to the desired position. As a result, the electric valve will be triggered, which will cut off the supply of diesel fuel in the fuel line system. Modern car models are also equipped with a system that, among other things, stops the supply of control impulses that open the injectors.
Step 2
Click on the special button that trucks, tractors and big buses are equipped with. It can be located on the floor near the driver's feet, on the dashboard, or in the form of a lever. Actuation of this button leads to the shutdown of the fuel supply by a mechanical drive in the fuel pump. However, simply pressing a button is not enough. To shut off the turbine, hold it down until the engine stops.
Step 3
Stop the turbine without disengaging the clutch using the fuel shutoff device. This method is very effective on descents or when braking in front of traffic lights. It can also be used only on those vehicles that are equipped with a mechanical drive. If your car is equipped with an electric valve, then using this method may cause damage to the power system.
Step 4
Try another trick to shut down the turbine if your electrical valve is broken. There is no need to disengage the gear, just release the clutch while applying the brake. To make the method more effective, first include the highest gear.
Step 5
In cold temperatures, it is advisable to pour some gasoline into the oil sump of the turbine to facilitate starting in the event of jamming. This method allows you to soften the viscosity of the oil. Just remember that after winter is over, it is imperative to change the oil, since gasoline leads to its oxidation.
