Step 1
Dismantle the torpedo. For repair work, the panel must be removed. To do this, read the manual for your vehicle. It should describe the removal process. Step 2
Remove all pads. Detach the decorative parts. Also remove the steering wheel. If the glove compartment is removable, it should be removed as well. The steering column switches are also subject to removal.
Step 3
Find the location of each self-tapping screw that secures the panel to the vehicle body. Unscrew carefully, having previously marked.
Step 4
Gently pull the torpedo towards you, grasping the edges with your hands. Never jerk too hard! Find all the wire pads on the back. Label them and disconnect.
Step 5
Pull the torpedo out of the vehicle through the front passenger door. Complete disassembly of the panel.
Step 6
Inspect the damage carefully if repair is necessary. A cracked or broken panel is best replaced with a new one. If this is not possible, then you will have to restore the old one.
Step 7
Examine the area of the fracture or crack carefully. Try to straighten all the pieces of plastic so that they form a flat surface.
Step 8
Turn the panel right side down. On the back, fix the cracked plastic with epoxy and a regular bandage. Thoroughly coat everything with epoxy. Let the resin dry.
Step 9
Cover the crack from the front. To do this, you can use both onlays and film of any color.
Step 10
Drag the torpedo with film or material if you want to drastically change its style. It is best to use automotive leather or special film. Such materials are well adapted for use in a car, therefore they can serve for more than one year.
