On long tiring trips, your favorite music helps you to relax very well. Therefore, you need to take care of having a good radio in your car. Unfortunately, OEM head units are very often of poor quality, so they should be replaced. But it is not so easy to remove the Opel Astra two-din radio tape recorder.
It is necessary
Screwdriver set, plastic screwdriver, opener set, cotton gloves
Instructions
Step 1
Place the vehicle on a level surface. Apply the parking brake so that the machine is clearly secured. Switch off the car and remove the key from the ignition. Open the hood and disconnect the minus terminal from the battery. This will de-energize the on-board power system. If the alarm is powered by a standard battery, do not forget to turn it off first. Remove all decorative trims. Take out the air duct grilles.
Step 2
The Opel Astra has an overlay on the top of the dashboard. It is fastened with bolts, the caps of which are hidden by caps. Unscrew the bolts and carefully remove the cover by snapping off the plastic clips that hold it. Unscrew the three climate control switches. Now find the screws that hold the center console trim. Pry the cladding with a plastic screwdriver and carefully pull all the latches out of the slots. Take it out very carefully, as the Opel Astra lining is very easily scratched.
Step 3
Open the glove compartment. Take all things out of it. Unscrew the two bolts on the sides and remove the glove compartment cover, having previously disconnected the backlight wire clip. Next, turn out all the screws that hold the glove box box. Pry up one of the edges and pull the box out of the opening. Now you have full access to the back of the head unit. Find the four holes in the corners of the head unit. Insert special openers into them and press all the way. They can be purchased at official Opel stores and services. If you do not have such openers, then use long nails. In this case, the diameter of the nails must correspond to the diameter of the holes. After pressing, put your hand through the opening of the glove compartment and begin to gently press on the back of the radio. Pull it carefully out of the grooves. Label all plugs and wires. Get them out of their nests. The radio is completely removed.
