The constructive device of snowmobiles resembles the device of similar assemblies and parts of motorcycles, scooters, ATVs. Therefore, just like the rest of motor vehicles, snowmobiles can be repaired on their own. The main thing is knowledge of the technical part, a little ingenuity and a good tool.

Instructions
Step 1
If the engine does not start, but the starter turns it, first of all check the fuel level in the tank. Then check the integrity and tightness of the fuel hose. If necessary, remove it and blow it out with compressed air to remove blockages. If that doesn't work, remove the spark plugs. If there are two of them, mark them first. Remove the high-voltage wires from them, and then unscrew them from the candle channel with a key. Use a wire brush to remove carbon deposits from candles. If they are wet, wipe them dry. Make sure the clearance is correct.
Step 2
If the previous checks did not help, check the tightness of the cylinder head. Loose nuts can result in loss of compression ratio. Inspect the head gasket and replace if worn or damaged. Turn on the light to check the state of charge of the battery. If it burns weakly or does not burn at all, the battery is discharged. Start the engine with a spare battery or kick starter.
Step 3
If the engine overheats continuously, check the coolant level and top up if necessary. If the engine does not develop sufficient power during operation, warm it up to operating temperature. If its power is still insufficient when fully warmed up, adjust the tension of the V-belt.
Step 4
Check the belt tension if the engine is running and the snowmobile refuses to run. Also, in this case, inspect the track and remove any foreign objects trapped in it. Inspect its drive train for damage. If the engine shifts poorly to a higher or lower gear, if the drive chain begins to make noise and vibrations, then the V-belt is worn or damaged. Replace it.
Step 5
In case of minor damage to parts of the plastic lining of the snowmobile, remove them and sand the damaged areas with sandpaper. Fill any dents, scratches and cuts with caulking putty and apply a patch to the damaged area on the back of the cladding panel. Fix the patch firmly with adhesive tape and cover with sealant. After the sealant is completely dry, smooth the surface with sandpaper, prime and paint the part to be repaired.
