Cars equipped with a manual transmission have three pedals to operate. The driver controls the clutch pedal using his left foot, the right foot, as necessary, transfers from the brake to the gas. Depressing the clutch pedal decouples the transmission and the engine crankshaft, then they must connect. Thanks to this, the transport starts to move. Using the clutch, the driver can change gears while the vehicle is moving.
The principle of using the clutch is worth studying in order to prevent accelerated wear of auto parts and constant repairs in this regard. It is worth remembering that the clutch must remain engaged all the time, and you should use the pedal only so that the car moves from its place, as well as when changing gears and, if necessary, stopping the vehicle completely. It is not necessary to continue holding the pedal while stationary - this does not have the best effect on the mechanism. Driving with the clutch engaged halfway will burn the discs.
It is easy to operate the clutch pedal - press and release it smoothly. It is possible to allow a slight pause when pressing at the nip point. In practice, few people drive all the time in gear, but it is better to do this.
With constant driving at speed, the advantages are that drivers have much more opportunities for maneuvering, the vehicle can move smoothly, and the load on the rubber and brake discs during braking is reduced.
Correct use of the clutch pedal
The clutch should be squeezed out without delay and until it stops. When you release it, the leg should move smoothly, without "throwing", it is possible to stop when the grasping point is reached.
Do not hold down the clutch for a long time.
The movement always starts from the first gear. Experienced drivers sometimes start with the second on slippery winter roads.
It is recommended to carefully monitor the state of the system and, if necessary, correct breakdowns immediately.
