An alarm is the most reliable way to protect your car from vandals and hijackers. To increase the safety level of the car and increase its service life, you should configure the autostart of the security system.
Instructions
Step 1
When buying a car, be sure to find out if it has an alarm with auto start (some cars are equipped with it at the factory). If not, ask your dealer or dealer if it is possible to install it.
Step 2
Contact your alarm installer. Find out whether it is worth purchasing a new auto-start alarm or whether it will be enough to buy a separate module to activate it. But usually even cars with a manual gearbox of far from the last year of production may well be equipped with this device. If you have a car with a manual transmission, then the autostart will be configured in such a way that it will simply stall in the transmission.
Step 3
If you need to install autostart in a car with a standard immobilizer, you will need an additional bypass unit and a second chip or ignition key. The alarm will allow the immobilizer to read information from the chip located in the bypass block at the time of autostart. And if something goes wrong, the car will not even move, since identification of the chip will be impossible.
Step 4
Adjust the autostart of the engine so that it works even in the most severe frosts, starting at a certain temperature and keeping the system warm. However, do not forget to set the time on the timer as well. By default, this is usually 10 minutes, but if you think that this will not be enough, select a longer period for warming up. Or set up autostart so that the engine turns on and off at regular intervals or strictly at the appointed hour.
Step 5
Configure autostart for the summer period as well. But instead of warming up the car, set the automatic switching on of the cooling system and air conditioning. All these measures will additionally protect your car and extend its service life.
