The task of ensuring the safety of children on the street, including on the roads, rests on the shoulders of parents. Self-education of parents and transfer of knowledge to a child will help avoid many dangers on the road.
Instructions
Step 1
Tell the children how to behave on the roadway and near it, introduce them to road signs and traffic lights. Teach your child to perceive objects that obstruct the view of the roadway and distract attention as dangerous.
Step 2
Show your baby by personal example the skill of confident and calm behavior. Parents walking down the street with their child should not give in to haste and excitement, no matter how forced the circumstances. This will allow children to stop in time, assess the situation, look around and only then enter the roadway zone.
Step 3
When crossing the road or moving alongside it, do not carry children on sleds, which can easily topple over. Another common cause of road traffic injuries among children is the child's attempt to escape. Remember this when walking down the street with your baby.
Step 4
Explain to the children and show by example that you can cross the road only at a pedestrian crossing, and if there is none, then after he makes sure that there are no vehicles. Explain how important it is to anticipate a dangerous situation. A child should be prepared for the fact that another vehicle may leave because of a standing car, a bus may hide behind another vehicle, an undisciplined driver may not miss the crossing, and the car's brakes may fail.
Step 5
Never leave children unattended. Watch them when they play in the yard, especially near standing or moving vehicles. Use barriers, gates, or safety doors to restrict traffic from vehicles to children playing near the house. Do not let children play on the road.
Step 6
To keep children safe on the road, always hold their hand. They should be near you, especially when crossing the road. Make sure your child is securely strapped in the back seat or car seat before driving.
