If you own a European-assembled Ford car, the hood can be opened using a standard key. To do this, gently slide the logo cover up or down. Behind it is the castle larva. Insert the key into it and turn it. Then lift the hood with your hands and install the support.

There may also be problems, after which the hood cannot be opened with the help of the two above. In this case, you must try to find the cause of the breakdown. Try pulling the lever. If he walks freely, then this indicates that the drive cable has broken. It must be replaced with a similar new one. Install only standard cables recommended by the manufacturer, otherwise you risk getting the bonnet lock mechanism wedge again.
Step 4
Place the car on an overpass or lift it on a lift. Visit the car wash beforehand to get rid of the dirt and dust that has accumulated under the bumper. Find the location of the hood lock from the inside. Use a long blade screwdriver or long stiff wire. Use a screwdriver to lift the tab of the lock.
Step 5
Ask your assistant to raise the hood. After that, the tongue can be released. Disconnect the old cable, and replace it with a new one.
Step 6
On a European-assembled Ford car, you can open the hood in the same way when the drive cable breaks. If the key in the hood lock turns idle, you will have to change the lock.
Step 7
Take a drill or hammer drill. Choose a drill bit that is about one and a half to two times wider than the center hole of the lock. Drill out the lock cylinder and open it with a screwdriver. Replace the old lock with a new one. On European models, you will either have to change the hood lock along with all the door locks, or carry a separate key.
