If a malfunction occurs in the operation of the car generator, it should be checked immediately. This device allows you to operate the vehicle for a long time, constantly supplying electricity to the vehicle's on-board network. If the battery charge indicator lamp comes on, noise appears in the operation of the device, repair it or install a new generator on the engine yourself.

Necessary

  • - key for 10;
  • - key for 17;
  • - key 19;
  • - assembly blade.

Instructions

Step 1

Place the vehicle on a viewing ditch or lift. In the first case, place chocks under the wheels and engage first gear. Remove the battery. Install the generator underneath the engine. Before doing this, check the length of the brushes in the brush holder. In case of their "harmony" - replace. To do this, tilt the generator and place it on the engine, lifting it up. Hold it and insert the bolt of its lower fastening. Put a washer on it and tighten the nut with a 17 wrench. Keep in mind that on the side of the generator pulley, the pastel for the lower mounting bolt has cutouts for its head.

Step 2

Connect two wires to terminal "30", the first - from the stator winding output plug, the second - from terminal "67" of the brush holder. Do not confuse these wires, they do not have insulating pads. Take a key 10 and tighten the nut of the terminal bolt "30", put a protective cap on it.

Step 3

Insert the upper alternator adjusting bolt into the slot in the tension bar. Put a washer on it and screw the generator mounting nut with a 19 key to the tension bar, but not all the way. It is best to use a head with an extension and a universal joint for this. Move the generator to the engine. Put on the alternator drive belt first on the crankshaft pulley, then on the alternator pulley, then on the water pump pulley.

Step 4

Take a wooden arm or mounting paddle and insert it between the engine and generator housing. Tension the drive belt. Lock the nut to the tension bar until it stops. Screw the nut on the lower mounting bolt of the generator until it stops. Install the mudguard. Put the battery in the right place and connect the wires to it. Switch on the ignition. The battery charge lamp should be on. Start the engine. Check if the battery charge lamp has gone out.
