Instructions

Step 1

To open the Ford Focus hood, turn the company emblem on the radiator grille counterclockwise. Insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn it counterclockwise. In this case, the hood should rise slightly. Then turn the key in the other direction (clockwise) until it stops. Raise the hood.

Step 2

In order not to spoil or lose the key immediately after opening the hood, remove it from the lock and return the Ford emblem to its original position. Remove the bonnet support from the holder and install it in the special slot, making sure that it snaps into it. Also make sure the bonnet cover is securely fastened.

Step 3

To close the hood, lower the support leg and lock it into the holder. Lower the hood to a height of 20-30 cm, then let it fall freely from that height. At the moment of locking, a characteristic click should be heard, indicating the reliability of the lock operation. Be sure to make sure the hood latch is securely engaged.

Step 4

If the lock suddenly stops opening in the usual way, try inserting the key into the larva and pushing it towards you. Then turn the key. After opening the lock, be sure to replace the cylinder and, if necessary, replace the plastic cylinder drive (mini-cardan).

Step 5

Examine the lock carefully through the radiator grill and locate the lock core. Take a long screwdriver and press its sting against this core, pushing the screwdriver through the grille. After that, heat the tip of the screwdriver red hot and melt the hole in the core. This results in the appearance of a slot on a plastic part.

Step 6

Pressing the hood down, try to rotate with a screwdriver according to the same algorithm as with a key. The hood should open. Then carefully inspect the plastic drive. If it just loses its engagement with the maggot, rebuild it. If it breaks off, tune in to buying an expensive bonnet lock.
