A shock sensor is a device that reacts to external influences on the car body and gives sound signals to the car owner about it. Usually it is included in the general alarm system and is configured at the first start.
Instructions
Step 1
Experts advise installing the shock sensor on metal parts of the body inside the car, symmetrically about the axis of the car. The underside of the vehicle is not suitable for installing the sensor, because triggering can occur from resonant vibration of the body due to heavy vehicles passing by. Plastic parts of the car body are also unsuitable for installation. the sensitivity of the sensor decreases. The best place is the shield between the car interior and the engine compartment.
Step 2
The shock sensor has four wires and is connected to a special 4-pin connector of the main alarm unit. The sensor itself in the factory configuration is glued to the metal parts of the body using double-sided tape. However, self-respecting motorists prefer to fasten it with special fasteners on self-tapping screws.
Step 3
Adjustment is carried out manually when installing using resistors on the sensor panel. One resistor is responsible for warning of physical impact (weak impact), the other - gives an alarm signal when a strong impact on the car body.
Step 4
Unscrew both sensor adjusters as far as the stop (zero). Slowly add (one or two wrapping circles) the sensitivity of the warning zone.
Step 5
After adjusting the sensitivity of the warning zone in the same way, adjust the sensitivity of the alarm zone. It is usually set one or two more revolutions than the warning zone.
Step 6
After adding, close the doors and put the car on the alarm. Then, after setting it to security (30-60 seconds), check the sensitivity of the car by tapping on the body with your hand. Do not knock on the hood, doors and roof; dents may remain. Knock on the front and rear door pillars. If the sensitivity does not suit you, turn the resistors another one or two turns.
