A shock sensor, or shock sensor, is built into almost all car security systems. With its help, the external influence on the transport is recorded, and the signal is immediately transmitted to the owner of the car. Automotive sensors, differing in physical principle, have one algorithm of operation: in case of extraneous influences, they send a digital or analog signal to the system.

There are several diametrically opposite points of view about the installation location of the shock sensor in the car.

Some experts advise to install the device using metal body parts with a strong and rigid attachment to the surface of the car. Other auto mechanics refute this method, claiming that the amplitude of the oscillation is damped by iron, directly affecting the operation of the sensor. The device will react poorly to external influences. If you add sensitivity in the settings, then the car alarm will start to work for any reason. As an alternative, supporters of this point of view propose to install shock sensors on wiring harnesses and use plastic cable ties as fasteners.

In some garages, shock sensors are installed in the center of the car's interior, considering that this is the most suitable place for it. Located in the middle of the car, the sensor can provide the same sensitivity to external influences on any part of the body. The main thing is a good fastening of the device so that the alarm does not send false alarms.

Recently, shock sensors have been installed on the main alarm board. Undoubtedly, such a solution is economically profitable, but in this place the operation of the sensor is poorly effective, because it is impossible to find a place on a car to install such a device: it should be difficult for the hijackers to reach and at the same time provide optimal sensitivity to external influences.

Thus, the location of the sensor installation should be determined by the accuracy and stability of the device's response to external influences, as well as the absence of false alarms with insignificant or extraneous influence, for example, with loud sounds or gusts of wind, etc.
