After a long period of operation of the car, such a phenomenon as a decrease in the clearance between the road surface and the car body is often observed. And the suspension itself can no longer cope with effective damping of shocks while driving on roads with poor-quality surfaces.
Necessary
- - 19 mm spanner,
- - rear spring.
Instructions
Step 1
The blame for all of the above lies with the weakened suspension springs, which it is desirable to change, which will certainly increase the service life of the machine. Because shocks that are no longer able to extinguish the weakened springs lead to failure of wheel bearings, destroy ball joints and shock absorbers, and besides, they also deform the body.
Step 2
While the driver is alone in the car, such defects are hardly noticeable. But in those cases when at least two passengers are accommodated in the back seat, then the feeling of the road due to weakened springs that have lost the necessary elasticity increases many times. One gets the impression that you are not driving in a car, but in a horse-drawn carriage.
Step 3
To replace the rear suspension springs, you need to spend no more than 30-40 minutes.
Step 4
The car is displayed on a level ground.
Step 5
Wheel chocks are installed under the wheels.
Step 6
Using a 19 mm spanner, unscrew the lower rear shock absorber mount.
Step 7
The rear of the car is lifted as much as possible by a jack, after which the spring should fall out of its original place by itself. Otherwise, she can be helped with a tire iron.
Step 8
All further steps for installing a new spring are performed in reverse order.
