Many parts of cars, motorcycles, scooters and other vehicles require periodic lubrication. You can make your own lubrication only in cases where it is allowed by the manufacturer. Unauthorized maintenance of complex mechanisms without proper knowledge, conditions and tools threatens their failure. Often at the most inopportune moment.
It is necessary
- - lubricants;
- - detergents;
- - rags.
Instructions
Step 1
Lubricate moving parts in accordance with the instructions for use. Study it, highlighting for yourself the timing of the lubrication work, the lubricants used and other nuances. Watch out for the approach of the lubrication period during the operation of the vehicle. If you are using the machine under high load conditions, reduce the lubrication time by approximately half.
Step 2
Before lubricating the necessary components and assemblies, prepare all the necessary: tools for disassembling parts (if necessary), lubricants, detergents, rags or cloth for wiping. Clear space for work to be done.
Step 3
First, wash all parts and components of the unit to be lubricated, as together with the old grease, a lot of dirt, foreign particles and substances have accumulated on their surfaces. Depending on the serviced mechanism, use specialized detergents-cleaners or household solvents (kerosene, white alcohol). Avoid using gasoline.
Step 4
Uncomplicated mechanisms are allowed to be washed with household cleaning agents or soap. After washing, be sure to dry the serviced mechanism. For quick drying, it is convenient to use a sufficiently strong jet of air from the compressor.
Step 5
If the unit is oil-lubricated and in an oil bath, drain the old oil through the specially provided hole and refill with new one. It must meet the manufacturer's requirements for make, model or performance. Make sure to add the correct amount of grease to the mechanism housing. Focus on the risk levels indicating whether it is flooded enough.
Step 6
If the mechanism has a thick lubricant, apply it so that it is distributed as evenly as possible over all parts and penetrates into all gaps, gaps and cavities. Often this requires manually or using a drive to activate the mechanism, turn it.
Step 7
It is convenient to apply both liquid and thick grease using a special syringe or oiler. If an oil syringe is not available, a medical one is allowed.
