Changing the transmission oil in the gearbox (gearbox) is a very important procedure, the quality of which affects not only the condition of the car, but also the safety of the vehicle driver and his passengers. Car manufacturers recommend changing the gearbox oil of the car every 35,000 km of the distance traveled.

Necessary

  • - instructions for the car;
  • - new oil (3-5 liters, depending on the specification of the machine and operating conditions);
  • - keys: cap on "17", hex on "12";
  • - a container for draining the used oil;
  • - oil blower.

Instructions

Step 1

Check the condition of the oil. If its amount is not sufficient and has dropped below the manufacturer's declared rate, then you need to get ready to replace the used oil fluid. It will not be superfluous to check not only the level, but also the quality of the oil. The presence of impurities, such as iron dust, a strange color, rather black than amber - all these factors indicate a violation of the chemical composition of the oil fluid and the pre-emergency state of the gearbox.

Step 2

Warm up the machine before starting the oil change procedure. Pay attention to the fact that due to operational features, the engine of each car warms up differently. On average, almost all cars need to travel between four and six kilometers to bring the engine to full working order.

Step 3

Drive a heated car onto an overpass or inspection pit. Take a bucket for transporting used oil and place it exactly under the plug.

Step 4

Carefully unscrew the oil drain plug using a hex key. Wear an old jacket and cap to protect yourself from dirty drips and sometimes significant spills. Wait a while. Make sure that all the oil has drained out, then screw the plug back.

Step 5

Start filling oil using one of the existing methods for successfully delivering fluid to the checkpoint. I must say that the process of filling in new oil is quite complicated, it requires skill and endurance. It is necessary to use an oil blower or devices that replace it. It can be a lever grease gun, a large plastic syringe, or a rather complex design known among drivers as a “duckling”. It consists of a rubber hose, one end of which is wound into the box reservoir, and the other is pulled into the engine compartment. An important element of this design is the watering can, which connects to the upper end of the hose. From the watering can, the replacement oil flows through a hose directly into the vehicle's gearbox reservoir.

Step 6

Fill in oil up to the bottom notch. Consult the vehicle manual for the amount of oil recommended by the manufacturer for intensive vehicle use.
