Instructions

Step 1

Raise the machine to gain access to the bottom. Use a hydraulic lift for this. If you do not have this tool, you can use a viewing pit or overpass.

Step 2

Crawl under the car and find the transmission oil tray. It has the shape of a small saucepan, fixed on several bolts (6-8 pieces).

Step 3

Drain the transmission oil. If the tray contains a drain hole, open it by first placing a container with a capacity of at least one liter. Some oil will remain in the transmission. To completely remove it, the transmission must be flushed completely.

Step 4

If there is no drain hole, you will have to completely remove the tray. Loosen the two bolts about halfway, then completely remove all remaining bolts. After that, the tray should move from its place, and oil will begin to flow from it. If the tray does not move, tap it with a rubber mallet. The oil will flow out along the edges of the tray; to collect it, use a container that is at least the size of the tray itself. By removing the tray, you will gain access to the oil filter, be sure to replace it with a new one. Also check the oil seals, they may also need to be replaced.

Step 5

If you have an automatic transmission (transmission), it most likely contains a magnet inside, which accumulates metal shavings on its surface, which appears during the wear of moving parts. Be sure to clean the magnet by removing all chips.

Step 6

When you have finished cleaning the parts and completely draining the oil, reinstall the tray. Release the machine to the ground.

Step 7

Fill the transmission with new oil. Be careful, gearbox manufacturers may recommend the use of specific oils. Read the recommendations in the vehicle manual. To fill in oil, remove the transmission dipstick and insert a funnel into the hole. Do not add oil to the brim.

Step 8

To bring the oil level to the required level, start the engine and let it run for a while. Then stop the engine and check the oil level, top up if necessary.
