Oil change is basically a standard procedure that is the same for almost all vehicles and their models. However, when changing the oil in the automatic transmission of a Nissan car, certain difficulties may arise that can be solved independently.
Necessary
- - screwdriver;
- - container for waste oil;
- - a key for the drain plug.
Instructions
Step 1
Warm up the engine just before changing the oil so that the used oil is fully drained and as quickly as possible. Upon completion of this action, drive the car onto an overpass or into a garage with a viewing hole. The plug, which is located on the oil filler neck, must be removed.
Step 2
Then take a look from below at the front of your vehicle. Find a small hatch on the inside of one of the wheels. Also find the drain plug, which is in the area of the crankcase. To collect used oil, substitute a bottle, bucket, old saucepan and unscrew the drain plug. Do not pour oil onto the ground. Carefully remove the hatch by detaching the fastening caps
Step 3
Find the pulleys and the oil filter, which are located in the niche under the hatch, and start unscrewing the filter. Do this so that your clothes and pulleys are not stained with oil. When the used oil is completely drained, wipe the oil filter seat clean. Then put in a new oil filter (this must be done with each oil change).
Step 4
Lubricate the filter gasket with fresh engine oil to install a new oil filter, and screw in the filter element with a tightening torque of 15-20 Nm. Clean the drain plug from plaque, then replace the old used ring with a new one. If you do not have a new copper ring with you, use the old one, having previously heated it and cooled in cold water. Tighten the plug with a force of 30-40 Nm.
Step 5
Pour new oil into the oil filler neck and check the level with the dipstick. Start the engine and check the oil pressure sensors. Top up to the correct level if necessary. Then put the hatch back in place and screw the cap back on.
