In order for your car to work properly whenever you need it and does not fail at the most crucial moments, you need to take care of it and follow all the rules. Timely replacement of the engine oil is also one of the prerequisites for the correct operation of the vehicle. Oil changes are made strictly according to the schedule. In some cases, you can get out of this schedule, but this applies to individual use of the car. If you are not a fan of frequent trips, then you should not deviate from the required oil change schedule.

Necessary

  • - latex gloves;
  • - butter;
  • - oil filter.

Instructions

Step 1

Changing the engine oil yourself is not an easy task, so if you do not strictly follow the instructions for replacing, you are unlikely to succeed. Prepare oil and oil filter. Work best with disposable rubber gloves.

Step 2

Leave the machine with the engine off for half an hour before starting work to allow the oil to cool down. Place a specially prepared container under the crankcase where you will drain the oil. Unscrew the pan cap slightly, then turn it counterclockwise. Make sure that the plug does not fall into the container with the used oil.

Step 3

After the oil is poured into the prepared container, proceed to replace the oil filter. First, try to remove the old filter without using tools, if it does not work, use the tools, but do everything carefully, slowly. You don't have to look like you’ve been dipped in a container of used oil after changing the oil.

Step 4

Help yourself a little with the tools, and after loosen the filter just enough to unscrew it by hand, set the tools aside. Unscrew the filter and slowly, while maintaining balance, remove it. Remember that oil from the filter can splash and stain everything around.

Step 5

After you have poured all the oil into the sump, slowly pull it out from under the machine. Lubricate the rubber gasket of the new oil filter with used oil. Before installing a new oil filter, carefully examine the flange by touch. The old gasket must not remain on it, and it must be smooth, without any dents, otherwise it can lead to oil leakage in the future. It is advisable to install the new filter at the same angle at which the old one stood. It must be fixed exactly as the manufacturers recommend.

Step 6

After installing the new oil filter and all covers, clean all surfaces with paper towels or newspaper. Remember not to use soap and water.

Step 7

Now open the cover of the new oil filter and slowly pour oil into it. Use a funnel to avoid splashing the oil in all directions. The required oil rate is 3.5-6 liters. Check your vehicle's engine speed in the Operator's Manual. Screw the cap on your filter tightly. Clean up all oil stains and you can start the car.
