It is very difficult to protect the car from cracks and scratches on the body. They invariably appear even with very careful use. This is also facilitated by natural factors - sun, rain, cold and random mechanical influences. However, in many cases it is quite possible to return the original gloss to the car.

Step 1
If the car body paintwork is slightly weathered and microscopic scratches appear, treat the surface with a non-abrasive polish. It cleans microcracks without removing the paint layer and fills them with a polishing compound.
Step 2
Volosyanka - light, but clearly visible, although imperceptible by the hand, scratches. They do not affect the paint layer. However, they must be removed immediately so that they do not go deeper. Rinse the damaged area. Treat with a low abrasive polish.
Step 3
Treat a thin but deep scratch with colored wax or a special pencil. It should be applied with a damp cloth. Work in a place protected from the sun at a positive air temperature. When the wax hardens, polish it off. However, after a few washes, the operation will have to be repeated.
Step 4
To repair a chip or wide scratch, purchase a local body paint kit. It includes paint, colorless varnish and a brush. Wash the damaged area. Dry. Paint over the scratch. After drying, cover with varnish. However, all these measures are temporary and are designed to prevent further deterioration of the paintwork prior to visiting a car service.
Step 5
If a crack has formed from scratches of different depths, apply the stepwise polishing method. First, remove the smallest damage with normal polishing. Then apply a scratch remover. If you are not satisfied with the result, continue abrading until they disappear completely. Then reapply your regular polish.
Step 6
The quality of work largely depends on the materials used for polishing. Purchase polishing wool, an artificial bike, soft cotton material and special attachments from a car cosmetics store with which you can easily attach a polishing wheel to a drill or grinder. You can also use a special polishing machine. However, working with it requires certain skills. If you have not had to work with it before, then first try to do it on some old surface that you do not mind ruining. The availability of tools will speed up the work.
