Inspection of the technical condition of the car is a mandatory procedure for all car owners in Russia. In order to pass the examination quickly and without problems, you need to prepare well for it.
Preparation of documents
In order to quickly pass the vehicle inspection, it is necessary to collect the entire list of documents, having previously left an application for passing the vehicle inspection on the state Internet portal. I must say that thanks to the latest changes in legislation, the number of required documents has been reduced to a minimum.
So, in order to be able to officially pass the technical inspection, you must have with you: a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, a driver's license, a vehicle registration certificate. If a person who is not the owner of the car undergoes the inspection, he must have a general power of attorney.
Before going through the inspection
Inspection is a rather troublesome procedure, moreover, often due to the fault of the driver himself, it can drag on for an indefinite time. In order to make the appropriate preparation of the car, you should go to one of the service stations and, figuratively speaking, “clean the feathers”.
Service station specialists will check the operation of all units of the car engine, on-board electrics, the condition of the chassis and body elements. The warning triangle and fire extinguisher will also be checked again. A complete first aid kit is not required under the new laws, but it is desirable.
What will be checked?
Today, the car is no longer checked as scrupulously as it was several years ago, but the list of units and parts that should work perfectly at the time of the inspection is quite extensive. The check is carried out:
- the efficiency of the braking system, including the operation of the parking brake;
- the state of the steering mechanism;
- condition of windshield wipers, as well as auto windshield washers;
- serviceability of headlights and lanterns. Regarding this point, you should know that if, as a result of external tuning, the headlights provided for by the design of the car were dismantled, the owner may have problems during inspection. The current technical inspection is primarily a car safety check and if the installed headlights somehow affect the traffic safety indicator, you will have to pay a fine.
In addition to all of the above, you need to be prepared to check the content of harmful substances in the exhaust gases; compliance of the marking of assemblies and car parts with the necessary standards; serviceability of locks, as well as all seat belts in the car.
