There are several ways to increase engine power on a moped. To do this, you need to understand for what purpose you need more power. You should know that the more you drive horsepower into the motor, the shorter its life will be.

Instructions

Step 1

Start tuning your scooter engine by restoring its design power. Indeed, during production, environmental standards and the efficiency of the engine are always taken into account. To get started, simply readjust the carburetor for a positive power boost. Factory-installed intake and exhaust mechanisms prevent the engine from getting the maximum air / fuel mixture, so it cannot develop the maximum power it can handle.

Step 2

Replace the air filter with a similar one with a higher capacity, readjust the carburetor, replace the exhaust infrastructure with a more efficient one. Now the engine will be able to receive as much air-fuel mixture as it can "suck in" and at the same time it will quickly be freed from the exhaust gases through the pipe.

Step 3

Buy or order a reconfigured electronic engine control unit. After all, a standard ECU, to the detriment of engine power, does not allow it to burn the maximum amount of mixture per unit of time. In addition, it has a modified ignition timing, which helps to reduce the content of toxins in the exhaust gases and reduce fuel consumption, but, again, at the expense of power.

Step 4

Now replace the insides of the carburetor with a jet kit. This usually includes jets, a dispensing infrastructure spray, and a dispensing needle. Note that the diameter of its diffuser is an important parameter of the carburetor. Even if you put a 124cc jet kit in a 50cc carburetor, you only get huge fuel consumption and a flooded spark plug. Therefore, with an increase in engine displacement by 40% or more, change the entire carburetor. Install a new one with a larger diffuser diameter and nozzle flow areas. At the same time, you must understand that fuel consumption will also increase.

Step 5

When replacing the carburetor, also replace the inlet petal valve. Tuning valves are made from carbon fiber and other synthetic materials. They are tougher and more durable.

Step 6

With an increase in engine cubic capacity, do not forget to increase the flow area of the valve window, otherwise the volume of the incoming air-fuel mixture will not increase. The increased volume of the mixture cannot squeeze into the opening of the standard valve, so it is better to immediately replace the entire "house" with a more efficient one.
