Flying with the breeze on a small moped or scooter is the real dream of teenagers. Whichever unit they buy, it always seems that there is not enough power. Therefore, the craftsmen are trying to add it, and in various ways. Some of them are quite safe and convenient.
Instructions
Step 1
Begin the engine conversion by removing the factory-installed plugs. For Japanese equipment, first replace the switch - this is where the main plug is for most common models. Replacing the switch with a tuning one will remove the restriction on the maximum engine speed, which will definitely give an increase to the maximum speed. Be sure to check the engine for wear on the crankshaft bearings and cylinder-piston group before installing the commutator. Newer models (after 2000) often contain muffler plugs (catalysts and whistles) and variator (washers).
Step 2
Replace the muffler with a resonant tube compatible with your CPG, tune the transmission.
Step 3
Install a carburetor with an oversized diffuser diameter. Convenient to install and configure will be carburetors with a diffuser diameter of 17.5 mm. When replacing the carburetor, be sure to replace the air filter as well. Zero impedance sports filters may work here.
Step 4
Install a sports variator. It is also better to replace the variator belt with a reinforced one.
Step 5
Installing a Sport-class CPG is perhaps the most radical and effective way to increase power. At the same time, pay attention that the bearings and the crankshaft are in perfect condition, otherwise the increased loads will destroy them very quickly.
Step 6
Replace the exhaust system with a sports one, the so-called "saxophone", which consists of a resonator, an exhaust manifold and a muffler). A well-chosen saxophone will increase the power by 10-15% and allow you to raise the maximum speed.
Step 7
Better not to leave the original brakes. Install hydraulic disc brakes, use reinforced brake hoses, replace brake pads with sporty ones.
