Tinting of glass and headlights occupies a special place in the list of popular services in car tuning. With tinted lights, the most unprepossessing and inexpensive car takes on a stylish and modern look. This transforms the appearance of the vehicle. A darker color is more common.

It is necessary

  • - toning tape;
  • - screwdriver;
  • - industrial dryer;
  • - technical alcohol;
  • - sealant.

Instructions

Step 1

Use a variety of techniques to tint the rear lights of your car. One of these is the gluing of a film on the headlight glass. When starting work, disconnect the negative terminal from the battery. Take your service manual for your car and, following the section entitled "electrical equipment", disconnect the wires from the rear lights.

Step 2

Disassemble the taillights. The connection of the glasses to the body of the lighting device is done with a sealant. Take an ordinary industrial hair dryer, put the switch in the desired position and heat it up to 300 degrees. Warm up the joints on the body evenly. Run the heater over the joint at least five times until the sealant is completely melted.

Step 3

Detach the headlight housing and glass very carefully. Use a screwdriver if necessary. While the sealant has not hardened, clean all joints from its remnants.

Step 4

Clean the headlights. If no special cleaning agent is available, use regular industrial alcohol.

Step 5

Prepare a special tint film. Use only quality material with polymer plasticizer. This will ensure a uniform color of the headlights in both incoming and incident light. Choose a material that provides 85-90 percent light transmittance. In case of non-compliance with these standards, disagreements with traffic inspectors cannot be avoided.

Step 6

Apply the tint film to the glass surfaces of the headlight. Do this evenly and carefully to avoid kinking.

Step 7

Assemble the headlamp as soon as you finish applying the film to the glass. Fasten the fastening points with screws with sealant. In case of vibration during the movement of the car, this will prevent the fasteners from unscrewing. Glue the headlight housing and glass surface with sealant and press firmly. Fix in this position for the time specified in the instructions for use of the sealing compound. Wait for the seams to harden and place the light fixture in its place.

Step 8

Connect the wires and terminals to the headlamp, and check its operation.
