There is no universal instruction for the removal and installation of taillights on a vehicle. This is due to the fact that all machines have a different design. On one car, to remove and disassemble the taillights, you need to unscrew two or four screws - and the headlight is in your hands, on the other you will have to remove the bumper, and on the next one you will have to disassemble half of the car altogether. Consider an example of parsing a rear light on a Toyota Corolla.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a screwdriver and a "10" socket wrench. Open the rear trunk, and remove the black cover that covers the inside of the lamp, pull gently, otherwise it can break. Take out the lamp together with the socket.
Step 2
Using a socket wrench, unscrew the two nuts that are easy to lose in the bowels of the trunk, so carefully hold them so that they do not fall. Pull out the flashlight after bending the clip antennae from the inside with a screwdriver.
Step 3
So, you managed to extract the flashlight. Now take a rag and wipe it thoroughly, otherwise, during further disassembly, you can get dirty in dust and dirt.
Step 4
The most difficult task is removing the reflector. To do this, remove it from the locks and push it into the lantern. Use a screwdriver to pry off the filter. If you cannot do this, then poke these latches with a screwdriver. Push the reflector to the side and pull it out using a screwdriver.
Step 5
The light filter is very difficult to pull out without breaking both it and the headlight piece. Better break it down using wire cutters and a screwdriver. Or use a lighter or hairdryer to warm it up, which will take a long time.
Step 6
Now you can do whatever you want - put a new filter in a different color, remove the old light bulb and put in a new one, or customize the taillights at your discretion. After all the work is done, put everything back in the reverse order, it will take about a minute. The work is over.
