In cases where it is necessary to restore the operability of the headlight switches, wiper switches or the sound signal located below the steering wheel in the passenger compartment of a VAZ 2106 car, it is required to disassemble and remove the steering wheel.

- Screwdrivers 2 pcs,
- nut head 24 mm,
- crank,
- drift,
- a hammer,
- piece of board 40 cm.
Instructions
Step 1
At the preliminary stage in preparation for such a repair, as a rule, it is necessary to de-energize the on-board electrical network of the machine. To do this, open the hood and disconnect any cable from the battery.
Step 2
To disassemble the steering wheel on the models of the latest releases of the specified car brand, it is required, using an ordinary flat-blade screwdriver, to remove the decorative trim on the horn switch on the steering wheel.
Step 3
There are two screws under it, which are unscrewed with a curly screwdriver, after which the steering wheel cover is dismantled. Next, the key is removed from the ignition lock, and the steering wheel is installed in a fixed (locked) position.
Step 4
From now on, a 24 mm nut head and a wrench with an extension are released and unscrewed, but not completely, the nut that secures the steering wheel to the shaft.
Step 5
Then, sitting more comfortably in the driver's seat, and propping the steering wheel on your knees (put a piece of thick board down under your feet), armed with a hammer and a punch, you need to strike a sharp blow to the center of the steering shaft. As a result, the steering wheel will come off its place. And now the nut that secures the steering wheel to the shaft is completely unscrewed, and the steering wheel is dismantled.
