Dismantling and subsequent disassembly of the steering column in domestic cars is not difficult. To cope with such work is within the power of any person who at least once held wrenches in his hands.

- - socket wrench 24 mm,
- - beard,
- - a hammer.
Instructions
Step 1
At the beginning of the repair, the hood of the car rises and the ground cable is disconnected from the battery. Then the steering wheel is removed:
- in cars of the "classic line" produced by the Volzhsky Automobile Plant with the old "steering wheel", two bolts are unscrewed from the bottom and the signal key is removed;
- with a steering wheel of a new model, four fastening screws are located on top, under the decorative strip, removing which, they unscrew, and the top cover is removed;
- using a 24 mm socket wrench, unscrew the steering wheel mounting nut, - sitting in the driver's seat, with your knees support the steering wheel rim from below and insert the beard into the groove of the shaft, holding it with one hand, strike it with a sharp hammer with the other, press the wheel from the bottom up at the same time with your feet.
Step 2
After successfully dismantling the specified accessory, four self-tapping screws are unscrewed with a screwdriver and the decorative trim of the steering column switches is removed, which are also removed after loosening the clamping clamp and disconnecting the wiring harness pads.
Step 3
Now it is necessary to dismantle the steering shaft bracket. Unscrew two nuts of its fastening to the front panel of the body with a 13 mm wrench, and two more bolts with rolled heads with a hairpin driver. Having loosened the fastening of the clamping clamp, it is removed together with the ignition lock by moving up along the axis of the shaft (do not forget to turn the key to the "0" position and disconnect the electrical wiring).
Step 4
At the final stage, the tightening bolt of the spline shaft tip to the steering gear is unscrewed, and it is removed into the interior of the car.
At this stage, the disassembly of the steering column is considered complete.
