The oil change procedure in Daewoo Matiz has a number of subtleties that every car owner needs to know. And, most importantly, you need to take this regular procedure very seriously. All the options "yes, she will travel again" or "will have time" sooner or later can turn into big trouble for you.
Instructions
Step 1
A warmed-up car must be driven onto a lift or a viewing hole. Next, you need to open the hood and unscrew the oil filler cap. Then you will need a key, or better the head on "17", with which you need to loosen the crankcase drain plug so that you can then unscrew it manually.
Step 2
Prepare a bucket with a capacity of at least three or four liters to collect the used oil from the drain hole. Then unscrew the plug by hand and drain the used oil into a bucket. Please note that the engine oil is very hot, so it is not advisable to put your hands or feet under it.
Step 3
Wipe the unscrewed plug dry with a clean rag or cloth and remove old metal shavings that remain on it thanks to the built-in magnet designed to remove metal particles from the oil. For complete processing, the cork can be rinsed in a container with acetone or gasoline.
Step 4
Leave the container for the dripping oil for about 10 minutes, and during this time, unscrew the oil filter, also placing a container under it. The filter should be easily unscrewed by hand, but if it is stuck, you can use a chain wrench. If necessary, you can try to punch through the filter with a screwdriver or use it as a lever. At the same time, try to pierce the filter closer to the bottom, so as not to damage the threads on the engine union. Then wipe the filter seat from oil drips and dirt.
Step 5
Remove the new filter from the package and turn the opening upward. Next, pour new oil into the filter, up to about half of its volume, and coat the rubber seal well with oil. It is better to screw the filter by hand onto the fitting until the ring rests on the engine block. For a tight connection, turn it another ¾ turn.
Step 6
While you were installing the new filter, the old oil should have drained out. Therefore, put the drain plug back in place and tighten it with a wrench. Next, you need to pour new oil into the oil filler neck. The best way to do this is to use a funnel. In a Matiz car with an engine power of 1 liter, you need to fill in about 3 liters of oil, and with a power of 0.8 liters - about 2.5 liters.
Step 7
After filling with oil, close the lid and start the car. Let the engine run for a couple of minutes and turn it off. Usually, while the machine was running, oil flows back into the engine crankcase, this makes it possible to check the oil level with a dipstick, topping it up if necessary.
