For some time now, motorists have begun to tint the windows of their cars. Tinting allows you to partially or completely hide from the eyes of what is inside the cabin. The mechanism for tinting the side windows of the glass is very simple, but the tinting of the windshield causes difficulties for many.

It is necessary

  • - soapy water solution;
  • - plastic spatula;
  • - tint film;
  • - stationery knife;
  • - building hair dryer.

Instructions

Step 1

Take care of the dryness and cleanliness of the room in which you will tint your car. It is also necessary to direct the light so that it clearly falls on the windshield. Wash the entire vehicle beforehand. Wash the windshield and hood immediately before tinting.

Step 2

Measure the length and width of your windshield. Considering these data, buy the required amount of tint film. It is better to buy with a margin, which will come in handy in case you spoil the first piece.

Step 3

Apply a layer of soapy water to the outside of the windshield. Cut off a sheet of film and gently press the back of it against the glass. Iron it thoroughly with a plastic spatula to remove any bubbles and wrinkles. Never use a cloth for ironing, as it contains small particles and threads that can get under the tint film during application!

Step 4

Begin cutting the tint film around the perimeter of your windshield, making sure the film is evenly applied. Do not hurry. Try to cut neatly without distortion. Use a utility knife to cut.

Step 5

Apply soapy water to the inside of your windshield. Remove the protective layer from the tint film. Get a partner. Grasp the film at both ends and carefully slide it into the passenger compartment through the front passenger door. Place the film on the glass and smooth with a plastic spatula. Drain all water from under the plastic wrap.

Step 6

Align the film carefully so that its edges are exactly aligned with the edges of the windshield. Now take a building hair dryer and turn it on at maximum power. Heat the film surface in smooth circular motions and gently smooth it. After that, it is necessary to leave the car for at least one night in the garage so that the film has time to set.

Step 7

Remember that tinted windshields and side windows are prohibited by law. An acceptable option is to apply a small strip of tint film to the top of the windshield. When driving with a tinted windshield, be prepared for the inspector to stop you and issue a fine for violations.
