Of course, you need to take old tires, which you will not mind piercing. You won't get the thorns out of them. Although if you pull it out, the rubber will no longer be suitable.
The role of the spikes themselves will be performed by the self-tapping screws you purchased in advance. You will need 500 pieces of them (or more, take with a margin), and in size they should be the shortest that you find. To make the thorns not very sharp, grind them off with a little emery.
You will tighten the screws with a screwdriver, but first you need to determine where to screw them. To do this, take an awl and pierce holes in the tire from the outside to the inside. For a good roll-up, it is better not to put spikes in the middle of the tire, but then it will be more difficult to brake and accelerate. If you plan on skating exclusively on packed snow, stud all the way. It is better to put thorns at the edges every 1, and on the contact spot there should be 3-4 self-tapping screws.
Then turn out the tire, you will see traces of the awl on it, take a screwdriver and screw a self-tapping screw into each of them. The main thing is that they come out perpendicular to the tire itself. The holes can be pre-lubricated with machine oil to make the pins easier to twist.
In order not to damage the camera without twisting the rubber, glue it with several layers of adhesive. Then carefully turn the tire out with the spikes. Winter tires are ready.
