If oil consumption is increased, replace worn piston rings, valve sleeve guides and valve stem seals. In addition to repairing cylinders and installing repair pistons, replace the connecting rod and main crankshaft liners, camshaft bearing journal covers, crankshaft journals, grind until normal clearances with liners are restored. Install new valves, starter, alternator and ignition distributor.

If the cooling system malfunctions, diagnose the hoses, thermostat, water pump and its drive belts and replace them if necessary. For the repair to be of high quality, be sure to thoroughly flush the radiator.
