The leather-covered car interior looks stylish and elegant. It features improved sound insulation and acoustics. The likelihood of extraneous sounds, squeaks, vibrations is significantly reduced. You can cover the interior with leather on your own, giving the car accuracy and originality. It is best to use special auto leather or dense pigskin.

Instructions

Step 1

If you are going to cover solid areas, for example, the dashboard, then take a piece of material of approximately suitable shape.

Step 2

To make the skin easier to take the required shape, it must be soaked in warm, but not hot water for 2-3 hours.

Step 3

Then the material is applied to the covered area and pulled over the protruding elements so that the skin is smoothed. It is easier to do this together - while one gives the desired shape to the skin area, the second dries this area with a hairdryer.

Step 4

When the entire surface is dry, section by section, the skin should be removed. After cooling, the part will shrink slightly - this is normal.

Step 5

Spread the part and the surface to be decorated with glue and pull the leather element into place, heating it with a hairdryer for better stretching. When section by section is glued, the glue should be allowed to dry. When it dries and the part is completely cool, the skin will stretch and the surface will become even.

Step 6

When tightening soft elements, there is no need to give the leather a curly look, since the desired shape for the seat is achieved by sewing. The principle of operation is the same as for seating.

Step 7

If it is not possible to circle the covers, attach a large sheet of paper to the details of the seat, circle it and use the resulting outline as a pattern.

Step 8

Cut out the details of the covers from the leather. First, a basic pattern is made - an exact repetition of the dimensions of the seats without taking into account design elements.

Step 9

After trying on the details, decor is applied to them.

Step 10

It remains to unscrew the finished covers and put them on, attaching them to the seats. While updating the car, while maintaining the external gloss, one should not forget about the beauty of the interior.
