The use of a compressor during painting allows you to quickly and efficiently paint any surface. Before buying a compressor, you need to decide on the type of this equipment. The most common are screw and reciprocating compressors. Screw screws are distinguished by a higher price, but this is compensated for during their operation due to the fact that they save up to 30% of electricity. Reciprocating compressors are convenient and simple, widely used in car services and workshops.

To choose a compressor for painting a car, think about what kind of painting you need. If it is of low quality, then everything is simple: buy a compressor for painting fences and fences and a set of pneumatic tools for it.

For high-quality painting of a car, purchase a compressor with an air collector that will have a volume of about 50-100 liters. Choose output capacity from 150 liters per minute.

Buy a better piston compressor with an oil-filled crankcase because it will meet all of the above requirements.

Choose a quality spray gun. It should be economical in air consumption and not take more air than the compressor can produce. Do not be intimidated by the cost of good spray guns, because they cost about the same as high-quality painting of two or three parts in a car service.

Take a closer look at the hose and filters for cleaning compressed air. Buy a hose straight or twisted. However, a straight line will give you less trouble when painting in the garage, because it will not get in the way and curl under your feet.
Step 6
Install the filters between the spray gun and the compressor, i.e. the paint from the hose first gets into them, and then goes on. Filters are necessary to prevent the smallest solid particles, oil, water from entering the spray gun, and, consequently, on the surface to be painted, which can lead to a decrease in the quality of the painting.
