The Federal Law "On OSAGO" entered into force in 2003, however, due to numerous changes and additions, many car owners are interested in: what do you need to have with you in order to conclude an OSAGO agreement?
The rules for OSAGO in clause 15 contain an exhaustive list of documents that an insurance company may request when drawing up an insurance policy for OSAGO. So, to conclude a contract, you should provide:
- identity document - this document is mandatory for insured individuals. Such a document may be a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, a passport of a citizen of a foreign state and other documents directly provided for by the legislation of Russia;
- if the insured is a legal entity, the appropriate certificate of registration of the legal entity should be provided;
- documents for a vehicle - this can be a vehicle passport, technical passport or vehicle registration certificate. It is enough to provide any of the specified documents for the choice of the policyholder;
- if you plan to conclude an insurance contract with a limited number of persons allowed to drive, you should also provide copies or originals of driving licenses. If the contract is concluded without any restrictions, then you do not need to provide a driver's license;
- if the car is older than 3 years, then a diagnostic card should be provided, which contains information about the passage of MOT and indicates whether the vehicle meets all the mandatory safety requirements.
On the basis of these documents, as a rule, employees of the insurance company independently fill out an application for insurance and ask to sign it. Be sure to carefully check all your data, since they are entered into a single database (AIS RSA) and if there are technical errors in the future, you may unreasonably lose discounts, etc.
