To avoid an accident and give the car's interior a presentable look, you can trim the steering wheel with leather.

Instructions
Step 1
Dismantle the steering wheel after disconnecting the vehicle battery in order to avoid a short circuit. Remove the steering wheel cover. Unscrew the center nut carefully and remove the control pin. It is also necessary to carefully disconnect the airbag and horn wires.
Step 2
Take measurements from the steering wheel. They are necessary in order to make a pattern for sheathing. The diameter of the steering wheel can be found in the manual for your machine. Make a template according to the measurements taken. Check its correctness several times.
Step 3
Take the sheathing material and mark the back of it. To do this, use a template and a black marker. It is best to take a square piece of leather. This way you can save material.
Step 4
The workpiece must be in two parts. One of them is intended for covering the steering wheel rim, and the other for its central part.
Step 5
Make sure the markings are correct and cut the blanks along the reference lines.
Step 6
Begin to carefully trim the steering wheel rim. Before this, you must thoroughly degrease the surface of the steering wheel. To do this, use a special cleaning liquid. You can also lubricate the steering wheel with some kind of scented compound.
Step 7
Lubricate the surface of the rim with special leather glue during the tightening process. This will prevent the sheathing from twisting.
Step 8
Make sure all seams are neat and straight. Otherwise, your steering wheel will look ugly.
Step 9
Tighten the center of the handlebar in the same pattern. Then sew the center section and the rim trim with seams. Set the padded steering wheel aside to allow the glue to dry.
Step 10
Install the steering wheel upside-down. Adjust the backlash.
