When preparing the car for operation in the winter season, it is necessary to measure the density of the coolant with a hydrometer. In cases where the density is below normal, change the antifreeze.
Necessary
- - suitable containers for draining the antifreeze,
- - silicone or rubber tube,
- - screwdriver,
- - antifreeze canister - 10 liters.
Instructions
Step 1
To replace antifreeze in the engine cooling system, it is better to place the car on an inspection hole or lift. Compliance with this condition greatly facilitates the task.
Step 2
Having placed the car in one of the indicated places, on the bottom of the radiator, on its right side, the drain plug is unscrewed, onto which an elastic tube is previously put on, and one end of which is lowered into the basin to drain the antifreeze.
Step 3
By opening the plug on the expansion tank, the coolant is drained from the engine.
Step 4
After the antifreeze is completely drained, the drain plug is screwed on the radiator and the previously put on elastic tube is removed.
Step 5
Then the cooling system is filled with fresh fluid, but you do not need to start the engine at this stage.
Step 6
Filling with antifreeze slightly above the mark in the expansion tank, it is necessary to release the clamp on the heating pipe of the throttle assembly. By sliding the pipe, air is released from the cooling system, and when the coolant flows, the pipe returns to its place and the clamp on it is tightened with a screwdriver.
Step 7
Only now it is possible to start the engine for control warming up until it reaches the operating temperature.
