If the brake pads are not replaced in time, they can damage the brake discs, leaving scratches on the surface of the latter, which means expensive repairs. Sometimes a worn disc can still be polished and tidied up, but if the scratches are too deep, then there is no way out: the brake disc must be replaced. If you have this problem, chances are, the brake discs will have to be replaced on both sides, so roll up your sleeves and get to it!

Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your vehicle. First, disconnect the terminals from the battery. Remember, safety comes first! Then drain the brake fluid from the brake master cylinder. Now raise the front of the vehicle with repair stands or jacks and remove the wheels using a wrench.
Step 2
Disconnect the calipers. To do this, you will need to unscrew the two bolts with which they are usually attached. Bolts are most often located at the top and bottom of the part. Now, carefully use a strong string or wire to hang the caliper on a nearby suspension or frame part so that it does not hang from the brake hose under any circumstances. Remove the brake pads from the caliper and inspect them. They will most likely need to be replaced as well. Remove the caliper mount from the brake disc by unscrewing the corresponding bolts.
Step 3
Remove the brake disc from the wheel hub. Just pull the part towards you. If the brake disc is stuck, insert two bolts into the holes on it and tighten them with a wrench. After this operation, the disk will be free, and you can continue the repair.
Step 4
Prepare a new brake disc. This part cannot be put on the car just by taking it out of the box. At the factory, the brake discs are coated with a protective grease to protect the metal from corrosion. Our task will be to remove this coating. Use fine abrasive paper to wipe off the grease from the disc in smooth circular motions.
Step 5
Install a new brake disc onto the hub. Now that the new brake disc is in place, it's time to replace the calipers. First, install the caliper mounts on the brake disc, then insert the new brake pads into the calipers and secure the calipers to the brake discs.
Step 6
Put on the wheels. After you have finished working on the brake discs, simply return the wheels to their original place and secure them with bolts. Refill the system with brake fluid and reconnect the battery terminals. Now you need to pump the brake fluid throughout the system so that there are no air bubbles left there: simply sit behind the wheel and press the brake pedal until it feels firm.
