Something, and the brakes on the car should always be in perfect condition. Excessive wear on the front brake discs may be one of the reasons for the deterioration of the braking device. In this case, the discs must be removed and replaced.
Preparatory actions
To get to the brake disc, you need to remove the wheel and caliper. Jack up the front of the car from the appropriate side, having previously ripped off the wheel nuts with a wheel wrench. Place brake shoes or bricks under the wheels to prevent movement of the machine. Unscrew the nuts, remove the wheel - the disc and access to the caliper will open to your eyes. Due to the fact that, with proper operation of the car, brake discs serve for a rather long time, get ready for excessive efforts when unscrewing the mounting bolts and nuts. Arm yourself therefore with a penetrating lubricant or the popular WD-40 fluid.
Removing the caliper
If the replacement of the working cylinders of the front wheel caliper is not provided, then it can be removed without disconnecting the brake hoses. To do this, using the head 17, it is necessary to unscrew the lower and upper bolts holding the caliper. The effort here will need to be applied a lot, but first, using a screwdriver and a hammer, bend the edges of the tin washer that fix them from the head of the bolt. Don't forget about WD liquid. Remove the caliper from its place and hang or secure it to the longitudinal rod, being careful not to kink the hoses.
If it is necessary to repair or replace the brake cylinders, you will also have to disconnect the hose.
Removing the brake disc
Take a box wrench or use a 10 socket to pry off the two pilot pins on the hub. Do not start unscrewing with an open-end wrench - the pins are likely to sit very tight, and you can break the edges. After unscrewing the studs, remove the intermediate metal plate.
Now proceed directly to the removal of the brake disc. For this purpose, a special puller is used, but you can do without it. How simple and quick the operation will be depends on the state of the entire iron at the current moment. To make it easier for yourself, use a screwdriver, a metal or at least a toothbrush to clean the hub at the interface with the disc, spill plenty of WD liquid.
Now arm yourself with a hammer and from the back side, from under the body, patiently, with gentle tapping, hit the disc, while scrolling it on the axle. Gotta get off!
Remember to replace both brake discs at the same time. Also be prepared for the fact that the first 200-300 km after replacement, while the new mechanisms are rubbing in, your brakes will not be in perfect shape.
