Daewoo Nexia is a descendant of the German Opel, modernized by the South Korean company Daewoo in 1995. Since 1996, Nexia has been produced at subsidiaries - branches of Daewoo - in Europe and Asia. These cars come to Russia mainly from Uzbekistan. To change the coolant on a car of this model, you need to know how to get to the radiator drain valve. Antifreeze and the frequency of their replacement
The coolant (coolant) must be changed periodically. Most car manuals indicate that antifreeze should be changed once every three years or after a run of 45,000 km. The procedure for draining antifreeze on Daewoo Nexia
To replace the antifreeze, it is necessary to drive the car onto an overpass or place it above the inspection pit. The engine must be warm enough to open the thermostat valve - this will allow all the fluid to drain without any problems. Just in case, to keep it as small as possible, jack up the left side of the car body with an inclination to the front left wheel. Prepare a wide-necked container for collecting used antifreeze and adequate wrenches. Open the coolant expansion tank cap.
In order not to strip the threads on bolts and nuts and to facilitate work, first spray them with a special WD-40 rust treatment fluid.
Unscrew the mudguard mounting bolts and remove it. The crankcase protection can not be completely removed, but leaving the left front bolt, move the cavity to the side. In this case, access to the screw plug with a diagonal protrusion-handle should be opened. Substitute a container. Using a rubber gloved hand (it is better to put it on top of a cloth glove), unscrew the plug, and the liquid will flow.
Refueling with fresh antifreeze
After everything is drained, proceed with filling with fresh coolant. You can pre-flush the system with distilled water if you are switching from one brand of antifreeze to another. If the coolant brand is preserved, mixing fresh antifreeze with residues is not contraindicated in any way.
Screw in the drain plug. The Daewoo Nexia cooling system holds 6.2 liters of liquid. Therefore, pour the used antifreeze into a measuring container so that you know how much fresh will need to be added. After filling the system, start the engine and, during the warming up process, intensively “extinguish” it several times, so that the accidentally remaining air can escape better.
