An immobilizer is an effective electronic anti-theft car device that, when turned on, breaks one or more of the most important electrical circuits of the car, thereby preventing theft. This usually disables the starter, ignition system or engine.
Instructions
Step 1
The immobilizer consists of a control unit, an electromagnetic relay and a key. It is created with the expectation that it can only be turned on and off by the owner of the vehicle. Usually an electronic code key is used to unlock the immobilizer. In some cases, manual coding models can be used.
Step 2
In order to disable such an immobilizer, it is necessary to insert the code key into a special slot. Where manual dialing of the code is provided, the immobilizer is disabled by entering the code set by the car owner. In case of failure of the immobilizer or unauthorized shutdown, the blocking remains. All modern immobilizers, after a certain period of time, when no action was taken by the owner, automatically take the car under protection.
Step 3
Today, a huge number of car security systems are produced in the world, each of which has its own characteristics. So, the most comfortable are remote immobilizers, which automatically turn off the security when approaching "their" key.
Step 4
The process of turning on the immobilizer can be controlled using a special timer. This option is very convenient for car owners who are forced to leave the car in places where theft is most accessible and during long-term parking. Many drivers, not without reason, are interested in the question of how the immobilizer will behave if the hijacker manages to turn it off. The systems will still remain blocked.
Step 5
To disable the anti-theft system, an attacker will have to open the hood, therefore, at many car service enterprises specializing in the installation of anti-theft systems, the hood protection is simultaneously strengthened. Another way of controlling the switching device is possible - via a radio channel, which makes them even more reliable.
