Having bought a new car, the owner thinks about its safety by installing various security systems. Many cars are equipped with a factory anti-theft system, or rather an immobilizer. As a rule, the immobilizer is in an inactive state at the time of purchase of the car, and its activation is carried out by the seller in agreement with the buyer. If activation was not performed upon purchase, then you can perform the procedure yourself.
It is necessary
- - regular key with a remote control;
- - red key.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting the procedure for activating the immobilizer, make sure there is a sufficient amount of fuel, it must be at least ten liters. Starting the activation of the immobilizer when there is not enough gasoline, you risk getting confused in the sound signals emitted by the car.
Step 2
The immobilizer activation procedure is not complicated and takes no more than ten minutes. You need to collect the black key. Get in the car and make sure all doors are closed. Next, using the red key, you need to turn on the ignition. Wait until the vehicle beeps three times. Remove the key from the ignition.
Step 3
Without wasting time, within five to six seconds, turn on the ignition with the black key. Three more squeaks will be heard, and in a second two more. Remove the black key from the lock. Again, within five seconds, insert and turn on the ignition with the red key. There will be three more squeaks and two seconds later.
Step 4
Turn off the ignition without removing the key from the lock, a squeak will be heard. Having heard the signal, turn on the ignition again for five seconds, the car will give another signal, but with a horn. Further, if everything is done correctly, the car will blink with an alarm and beep with a horn. Turn off the ignition without removing the key until the silhouette of the car goes out on the dashboard. If the activation was successful, then before starting the engine, by inserting the key into the ignition switch, you will hear a sound signal - two short squeaks.
