Activating the key of a new car means turning on the standard immobilizer, which does not allow the engine to start without using the ignition key. Usually, this procedure is carried out by the employees of the car dealership when the car is sold, but if this did not happen for some reason, the driver can handle it on his own. On Lada "Kalina", the key activation procedure has a number of features.

Instructions

Step 1

The set of a new car must have two keys suitable for the ignition lock - red (teaching) and black with buttons (working).

It's good if you pay attention to the presence of both keys when buying a car. It is no secret that in some car dealerships a working key is issued only for the "Lux" configuration of the Lada "Kalina" car. Be sure to ask for a working key, otherwise you will not be able to activate the immobilizer yourself, and in case of possible problems with the standard alarm, you will not be able to help yourself.

So, pick up the work (black) and training (red) keys to your car.

Step 2

Get in the car, close the doors. Insert the learning key into the ignition switch and turn the key all the way to the right. You will hear three beeps. Pull out the learning key.

Step 3

Now you need to quickly (no more than within 5-6 seconds) insert the black working key into the ignition lock and turn it all the way in the lock. If you did everything on time, then you will hear three beeps, and after a certain period of time, two more beeps.

Step 4

Then, within 5-6 seconds, you need to turn on the ignition again with the red teaching key. Wait for three beeps again, followed by two more beeps.

Step 5

If everything went well, then turn off the ignition. Please note - the key must remain in the lock. Wait for a single beep.

Step 6

Within a short period of time (no more than 6 seconds), turn the ignition back on and count to five. Be sure to wait for the single beep.

Step 7

If done correctly, you will see the hazard warning lights flash. Switch off the ignition. Leave the key in the lock until the indicator with the car icon on the control panel goes out. Now you can safely use your car - it is reliably protected from theft.
