Step 1

When the gluttony of the engine in relation to engine oil overcomes the maximum permissible norms, the moment comes to carry out its restorative overhaul.

Step 2

To this end, the engine is removed from the engine compartment and placed on a locksmith's workbench, where it is completely disassembled.

Step 3

First of all, all attachments are dismantled from it: a water pump, a starter, a generator, a carburetor and a gas pump (if any), intake and exhaust manifolds, an ignition system breaker-distributor.

Step 4

Next, the valve cover and the camshaft drive gear are removed.

Step 5

After unscrewing ten bolts, the timing shaft and "rocker" camshaft is dismantled.

Step 6

Having unscrewed ten more bolts, the cylinder head is removed from the engine, after which it is turned over and installed with the crankcase up.

Step 7

Now the front pulley is removed from it using a puller, as well as the clutch mechanism and flywheel.

Step 8

Having freed the pallet from the attachment, the front and rear covers are removed from the engine, and the parts of the crank mechanism are removed from the cylinder block.

Step 9

Having finished disassembling the engine, all parts are thoroughly washed and defective, after which a decision is made on their further suitability or replacement with new spare parts.

Step 10

The cylinder block and crankshaft are delivered to the workshop for boring the specified parts, where the master, after measurements, will give recommendations on the purchase of a piston group and liners of overhaul size.

Step 11

While the main parts are in work at the borer, the cylinder head is being repaired in the garage on its own. The valves do not rub in and the oil seals change.

Step 12

Having received from the workshop the block of cylinders and the crankshaft bored for repair dimensions, the assembly of the engine begins. Work is carried out in the reverse order described above.
