Front shock absorber drainage, poor vehicle handling while driving, and harsh front end reactions to uneven road surfaces indicate that your front shock absorbers (or one of them) are defective. If you do not want to go to a car service and want to replace the front shock absorbers yourself, you need to perform the following sequence of actions.

Necessary

  • - A set of new shock absorbers;
  • - a universal set of tools for car repair.

Instructions

Step 1

Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack. If you change both shock absorbers at once, then perform the replacement sequentially, first one, then the second, there is no need to "jack up" the entire front of the car.

Step 2

Remove the wheel. Remove the 2 bolts on the steering knuckle. Unscrew the 2 nuts on the rack cup. Fasten the rack in a yew and fix it with two ties (you can buy them at any auto store).

Step 3

Now you can safely unscrew the central shock absorber rod. Depending on the model and brand of your car, this can be done by unscrewing the internal hexagon, twisting the nut with a spanner wrench or using a gas wrench to twist the block with the saw cut. As you unscrew the center rod, constantly tighten the spring with the zip ties.

Step 4

Only after fixing the strut and the spring on it, remove the shock absorber by the central rod using a wrench and a stop. Before installing a new shock absorber, be sure to bleed it. Turn the stand with the stem down, make the forward movements of the stem up and down 5-6 times. Then turn the shock absorber with the rod upwards and repeat the procedure of translational movements 15-20 times. Install the shock absorber as described in the instructions.
