Modern car radios, including devices from Panasonic, are connected to the on-board network, antenna and speakers using connectors. This makes it easier to install and dismantle the device.
Instructions
Step 1
Disconnect the vehicle electrical system. Check with a voltmeter that it is 12 volts, or find the appropriate information in the documentation for the machine. If the network turns out to be 24-volt, a special stabilizer will have to be placed between it and the radio tape recorder, generating a voltage of 12 V.
Step 2
Lay the following conductors to the car radio compartment: - operating power (after ignition); - standby power (before ignition); - earth; - two conductors from each of the speakers (it is not allowed to connect them to ground or power supply). conductors must have a cross-section sufficient for the passage of current through them even when the radio is operating at maximum volume. Please note that significant currents flow not only through the power wires, but also through the speaker cables! Place a special automotive fuse holder, covered with insulation on all sides, into the break in the power wire. The fuse rating must correspond to the maximum current consumed by the radio. Lay wires in places where damage or melting of their insulation is impossible.
Step 3
Some ignition locks are equipped with auxiliary contacts designated as ACC or Accessory. When the key is installed in the appropriate position, such a lock supplies voltage to the cigarette lighter socket and the radio, but not to the ignition system, which allows you to listen to music in parking lots. If you decide to power the radio from the Accessory contact, do not use it with the engine off for too long, otherwise the battery will be so discharged that you will not be able to start the car.
Step 4
Route an additional coaxial cable from the antenna to the radio compartment. It connects to the device with a separate connector.
Step 5
To connect all circuits except the antenna circuit, use the multi-pin connector supplied with the radio. If it does not have a removable panel and can be removed entirely, this connector is an integral part of the slide. Find the connector pinout on the radio casing, in its instructions, or on the next page: https://avtolab.ru/publ/4-1-0-11/. If your device has a rare pinout, you can find it on the car audio forums.
Step 6
Connect all wires leading to the compartment in accordance with the pinout to the conductors coming out of the multi-pin connector. If the radio tape recorder has four outputs, and you have two speakers in your car, connect them according to the scheme corresponding to the bridge mode of the amplifiers. The output power on each of them will be twice as much. Insulate all connections carefully. Connect the antenna. Fasten the slide or the radio itself.
Step 7
Turn on the power and make sure the radio is working.
