Instructions

Step 1

To perform this operation, you must first remove the old fork, for which first remove the front wheel, steering wheel, remove the brake from the fork (if there is one) and do not forget about the wing.

Step 2

Next, remove the tapered ring, which is pressed onto the fork rod from the bottom of the steering tube. If it cannot be removed, and this may be due to the fact that the ring has become stuck, you must proceed as follows: knock harder on the stock through a wooden block with a mallet. Another way to remove the ring is to find a cut on it, and then gently pull the ring towards you with a thin straight screwdriver. After you have removed it, you can unscrew the retaining ring, which prevents the fork from moving freely.

Step 3

Next, unscrew the spring support from the left fork support. Do not forget that the fork cannot be strongly influenced at these moments, otherwise you simply risk ripping off the extreme threads.

Step 4

Then remove the spring and unscrew the lower bolts. The plug is removed. Now you can install a new one. Installing a new fork is done in reverse order.
