It is necessary

  • - wax pencil;
  • - polish;
  • - paint;
  • - varnish;
  • - putty;
  • - primer;
  • - movil;
  • - kerosene;
  • - gasoline;
  • - gloves.

Instructions

Step 1

Chips are usually formed from stones that fly from the wheels of oncoming and passing cars. Many people completely in vain do not pay attention to chips - rust can form in their place very quickly. So, you've decided to take on the body of your "iron friend". You can easily handle the repair of small chips and scratches yourself.

Step 2

A wax crayon can be an excellent remedy for small chips. Just apply it on a clean, dry surface and rub in for a while.

Step 3

For larger chips, a pencil will not work - it will wear off very quickly. Such chips are best painted with paint to match the color of the car. If the chip did not reach the metal, but only slightly touched the primer, then it is necessary to spread the place with color-enriched polish, and then cover it with protective paint.

Step 4

Be that as it may, most chips still have to be repaired professionally. To prepare the cleavage site for processing, it is necessary to clean it of dust and dirt, degrease and dry it. If traces of rust are already visible at this place, then be sure to first treat the chip with a special agent so that the rust does not begin to spread into the metal.

Step 5

Now polish the chipped area to make the transition areas less visible. Next, you need to grind this place manually or with a special machine, preparing it for putting putty, moreover, so as not to get on the main paint.

Step 6

The putty is applied in a thin layer of no more than 2 mm. The thick layer can easily chip off and you have to do it all over again. The putty must be applied until the surface is completely aligned with the native paint, therefore several coats may be needed. Sand again, carefully checking the boundaries of the putty and native paint.

Step 7

The primer can now be applied. Many car owners go straight to painting, which does not greatly affect the quality of work with a good putty. The paint should be applied in 2-3 layers, each time slightly increasing the surface of the paint. The break between coats should be about 5 minutes. Finally, apply a clear coat that will harden the paint.
