The high panel in a VAZ 2109 car is considered the noisiest. The owners of these cars are willing to spend a lot of time to solve the problem with squeak. Removing the tall panel is quite difficult.
Instructions
Step 1
First, remove the terminals from the battery. Then you can remove the steering wheel trim. Remove the steering wheel nut. Do this so that the end of the nut is flush with the end of the steering column shaft. Please note that the steering wheel fits snugly on the shaft. That is why it is highly discouraged to immediately unscrew the wheel nut. The steering wheel can easily come off the splines and cause injury. Mark the position of the rudder relative to the shaft. Next, knock the steering wheel off the shaft splines with a sharp blow. It remains only to completely unscrew the nut and remove the steering wheel.
Step 2
After that, you can proceed to removing the steering column cover. For this purpose, you need to remove six screws. The cover of the switch must be removed. Remove both parts of the cover. Then loosen the steering column switch base bolt. The base can now be easily removed from the shaft. Disconnect the pads with wires that go to the sound signal. You also need to disconnect the block with the wires that go from the wiper and washer switch lever.
Step 3
Next, you can proceed to dismantling the instrument panel console trim. Remove the two mounting screws. The cover can then be easily removed from the console. Then remove the cigarette lighter socket from the socket. Also remove the ashtray. For this purpose, it is necessary to press on the cigarette extinguishing plate. Next, you can remove the heater fan switch handle and three control knobs. You just need to pick them up with a screwdriver.
Step 4
Then remove the screws for the lower fixing of the instrument panel. They are located on both sides. Then you need to unscrew the two screws securing the heater. The panel is now supported by two screws for the air damper rod guide and two screws for the upper fixture of the instrument panel. Unscrew them. Now you can pick up with a screwdriver and remove the plugs from the instrument panel. Remove the screw for the center mounting of the instrument panel. Remove the panel.
Step 5
Installation of the panel is carried out upside-down. After installation, be sure to check the operation of switches and devices.
